Man, I was SO looking forward to the NFL this year, there was quite a buzz that the AZ Cardinals would win the division this year. In the back of my mind though, the Bidwell curse was always there, but I figured, hell, we've got Denny at the helm, his no "BS" approach is going to take us to the next level. What we're finding out is we've got an egomaniac leading the team.
I was born and raised in Arizona, the 5th of 6 children. The 'rents moved here from Minnesota about 1 year before I was born. I am married to a truly beautiful Mexican girl (see archived posts for June.."How I met the Queen of Tequila). I love golf, football, most anything pertaining to Mexico, current events/politics and I have the ability to talk backwards ALMOST as fast as I can talk forwards. Now you can take that 2 ways, let's just say I do speak at the same speed/rate as any normal Joe, I even did a stint on the #1 rated morning radio show (93.3 KDKB) here in Phoenix a few years back as "The Amazing Dr. Rewind". The only consistent theme since the Cardinals have been in Arizona is the Owners. The Bidwells are the worst owners in professional sports period. They will not have a winner in town - ever.
Former Cardinal lineman Lomas Brown said that the AZ Cardinals are by far the cheapest team in the NFL. He said that all players are given 1 item of everything (shoes, socks, jockstraps, football, practice uni's, etc.) and if they lose or need more items, they are docked that amount from their paycheck, apparently the Cardinals are the only team that does this. He also said that the biggest jackass of them all is the son Michael Bidwill.......great, just what we need, the son worst than the old man!
