FIRST THE KATRINA REPORTING fell apart. Then there was the whole wolf fiasco, Dan Rather, etc. Now there's the misreporting of the trapped-miners story.

If bloggers had made these kinds of mistakes, Big-Media folks would be pointing them out as evidence that the blogosphere can't be trusted. But where were all those editors, filters, and fact-checkers?

Network television and the newspapers are on their way out, almost every major newspaper has seen a considerable drop in subscriptions as well as a drop in audience for network (and most cable) stations.....with pathetic reporting like what we have witnessed, the sooner the demise, the better.
