Peggy Noonan writes today in the Wall Street Journal "Why Bush May Be Thinking About Replacing Cheney", it's interesting and a
possibility I think, but for different reasons.
I posted here on August 24 that Dick Cheney would step down siting health reasons and Bush would appoint Guliani. My reason for this is that this would be the first time in over 50 years that the incumbent party would NOT have anyone from the White House running for President.
I have since changed that candidate, I believe the 2008 Republican Presidential nominee will be VA Senator George Allan and he'll tap Condi Rice as the VP. Now if Cheney were to step down, Allan would then be the man.
Can't get that link to work, it's at http://joegringo.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_joegringo_archive.html

Your are correct....if you are talking about the clone of a highly intelligent, astute businessman, who is as tough as nails, keeps bouncing back from heart attacks and knows Washington DC politics probably better than anyone on the hill.
I've always liked Cheney a lot.
