Today in History...September 11

On this day in …

* 2001, in the single worst act of terrorism committed on U.S. soil, nearly 3,000 people died when two hijacked jetliners crashed into New York's World Trade Center, causing the twin towers to fall, a commandeered jetliner smashed into the Pentagon and a fourth hijacked plane crashed in western Pennsylvania. The day is marked as Patriot Day.

UPDATE: All 19 of the hijackers are rotting and suffering in hell as we speak.

* 1789, Alexander Hamilton was appointed the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury

* 1814, an American fleet scored a decisive victory over the British in the Battle of Lake Champlain in the War of 1812

* 1941, Charles A. Lindbergh sparked charges of anti-Semitism with a speech in Des Moines, Iowa, in which he said "the British, the Jewish and the Roosevelt administration" were trying to draw the United States into World War II

* 1972, the Munich Summer Olympics, in which practitioners of that "religion of peace" murdered 11 Israeli athletes, ended. (Yes, their deaths wasn't considered sufficiently serious to merit canceling or postponing the games)

* 1973, Chilean President Salvador Allende died in a violent military coup

* 1989, the exodus of East German refugees from Hungary to West Germany by way of Austria began

* 2002, defiant "Palestinian" legislators forced the resignation of Yasser Arafat's 21-member Cabinet.

I will never forget 9/11. I will support Iraqi Freedom, not because I believe in war, but we can not succumb to terrorism. we must fight it like we fought every other enemy. People all over the world deal with this daily and it must stop. There is NO other way. to end to this horror. There is no other way for us to survive . Until they are stopped, we must continue to liberate others and protect our freedom. I love this country and I will do anything to protect it. Our thoughts are still with all the victim's and their families that gave their lives and today we show our appreciation for what they went through. . Please, let's remember them and never forget them. Thank You to everyone who has lived their life so that our world can be a better place
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ?. when I first heard that song I agreed with everything that he says in that song.. like the song says "people always say that we don't need this war but you know what "we didn't get to keep this piece of ground by backing down" and you know what he is right because thousands of people died that day, we lost friends and family that day all because of terrorists and that Son of a bitch Bin laden.... also like the song says "you say we shouldn't worry about Bin laden" in my heart if it were me fighting in the war it would be worth while because knowing about what happened that day and fighting for my country because of someone so evil like that I would know "just what i'm fighting for". AND for those who don't agree with this war I have one question for you, "HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN"? And one more thing, I want to thank all the Brave members of our troops who are out there fighting for this beautiful country that we live in. GOD BLESS THE U.S.A
My thoughts and prayers are with the families and survivors of 9/11. As I sit here and listen to all those names being read, and see all those people standing in the rain and looking so sad and crying. How could you not remember?
I just pray that we never forget that day. I know that I won't

The day changed our country and I think it scares alot of people. There is an imense amount of denial that we are hated because we stand for freedom. What has angered so many tyranical regimes whether poltical, economical or theocratic, is we are of the people. That is why we have an immigration problem. People want is. If ther are people who want out rather than stick it out for the next election, go. There are millions who want their job, their ipods, their freedom of press, etc.

I wish my theology allowed me to agree with you. I believe they are currently enduring the sleep of the dead, but come judgment day they will get to enjoy the fate you mention.

dd2,

God Bless you brother,

You could not have said it better, your comment says it all. This is just an incredible day. Alan Jackson, Daryl Worley, put down some great tunes, they are classics.

We will prevail.
