The Arizona 9-11 Memorial Debacle

This is about a month old, but I figured I'd jump in, local conservative radio talk show hosts, Liddy and Hill (the former, G. Gordon's son) have been pounding this one into the ground, and for good measure.

Under the leadership of our Governor Janet Napolitano (Democrat), a commission was set up by our former Governor Jane Hull (Republican) to design a memorial commemorating those who died and affected by the events of 9-11-01. Unfortunately what was unveiled was absolutely disgusting. Instead of honoring the victims of 9-11, this commission set up by our Governor actually lambastes the USA with "quotes" supposedly important and relative to the events of 9-11-01.

Recently in a press conference, Napolitano was asked by a reporter why many of the "quotes" were not quotes honoring the victims but in fact are phrases demeaning and blaming the USA for the 9-11. Her response? "You have to see the enire Memorial to appreciate it, stop making this political........move on."

What an arrogant b*tch.

It was her commission that made this political. If you are in Arizona this saturday, make sure you stop by and participate in the Arizona 9/11 Memorial Rally.

It's the same old, same old. Plan a 9/11 Memorial to honor the victims who died that day at the hands of evil, murderous Islamofascists, but mostly forget to mention the victims or the evil that took their lives. Instead, create a "place for dialogue," question American foreign policy since 9/11, and remind visitors to the 9/11 Memorial that there were root causes for the attacks-- namely, us.

This tolerance, diversity, acceptance BS has got to stop.

Some of the phrases in the Arizona Memorial ticking people off include:

"Erroneous U.S. Airstrike Kills 46 Ugruzgan Civilians"
"Congress Questions Why CIA and FBI Didn't Prevent Attacks"
"You Don't Win Battles of Terrorism With More Battles"
“09 15 01. Balbir Singh Sodhi, a Sikh, murdered in Mesa.”

Sodhi was a gas station owner from India, killed in the days following the Sept. 11 attacks, apparently because he was mistaken for someone of Middle Eastern descent because of the turban and beard he wore. Now, this story of misguided retaliation is tragic, but it is also rare. It's so, so far from reflective of the average American's reaction to 9/11 that its placement on the memorial is absurd.

See for yourself and tell me if this a memorial for the victims of the attacks on 9-11-01. Remember, my kids, your kids, their kids and so on will look at this piece of crap and will never truly understand what happened that day.
