Fightin' The Good Fight....With Golf

I hang with a bunch of pretty cool cats, all avid golfers from all walks of life. Every Memorial Day weekend, we put on a golf tournament, Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon, for the 24 of us. It's all about getting together, having a blast, drinking beer, betting, and competing on the golf course. We have individual, 2-Man and Ryder Cup competitions, winners receive money, trophies.....and THE JACKET! This baby is maroon with a golf emblem on the pocket, our tournament name sewn on it and.......the winners names sewn on the sleeves for the last 25 years....this baby rocks!

Last year, one of our best buds and elder statesmen, Bill Houser age 52, died of a heart attack 2 months before the tournament and we decided to dedicate our tournament to him. The boys got together and decided we would gather up some prizes, hold a raffle, raise some money and donate the money to the Houser family (not that they needed it). Well, we got 3 sets of PING Irons (valued at $1000+ each), numerous $50 and $100 gift certificates to fine restaurants, 4-some passes for golf at some great golf courses (some valued at ($400+ each), Charles Barkley autographed jersey (one of our buddy's hangs with him believe it or not), prints and a bunch of other stuff......we ended up raising over $5,300. Since the wife of Bill Houser is the Executive Director of the American Cancer Society here in Arizona, she directed the money to Arizona Camp Sunrise, a camp for kids with cancer. With the money they received from our tournament, Camp Sunrise bought a much needed large golf cart/vehicle, and on it, they had the license plate of "BH 1", in memory of Bill. Very Nice.

Well this year, we're doing the same. We have some great prizes added, in addtion to the above prizes, we'll have more autographed sports memorabilia, choice Arizona Diamndback and Arizona Cardinal tickets, gas cards, pro size Titleist golf bag and other stuff.
Raffle tickets are $25, time to open up the wallet and buy at least one!

All proceeds benefit Camp Sunrise/American Cancer Society, prizes for the raffle will drawn Memorial Day at our party, winner(s) need not be present! Checks are to be made out to "The American Cancer Society" and sent to:
