Yet another suicide bombing- this time, on a NATO patrol in a marketplace.
The bomber struck around 9 a.m., when children usually arrive at a nearby primary school for a second shift of classes. Schools in Afghanistan often serve three rotations of students.
"Some of the children were walking to school while other children were selling goods in the market," said Gen. Abdul Qassim Khan, the provincial police chief.
He said the bomber detonated his explosives outside a pharmacy as the Dutch patrol entered the market, a central shopping area for people from nearby villages. Seven shops were destroyed.

This group is notorious! They killed a fellow missionary a few years backs. He and his wife were kidnapped by them and he ended up shot protecting his wife in an attempt at a rescue made by the Filipino military, Very sad story. They need to be taken out!
I'm really starting to wonder whether the mission in Afghanistan can work. I support our troops and the idea of a free Afghanistan but can democracy stand a chance competing with Islam?

freedom can overcome if we stick with it. I have wondered where would we be in Iraq if the press had liked GW and supported our troops rather than treat them as ratings points. If al-quada knew our government had a unified front in destroying them, we could be fighting a different war. But alas, revenge is a dangerous sin
Freedom can overcome as soon as we take out it's antithesis: Islam, and then Communism.
