Is Everything About Sex?

From Carol Platt Liebau if there's one topic that really chap's my a$$, it's the topic of elementary school teacher's trying to do the parents' job. I doubt that this will go through, but if it did here in Arizona.....I'm home schooling! I lived in California for 3 years, what an overhyped, nut filled state that is.......nothing surpises me what comes out from there.

A ridiculous bill in California would require that elementary school children be taught about the "the contributions of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender to the economic, political, and social development of California and the United States of America."How ridiculous. Of what relevance is someone's sexuality to his or her achievements? It would be insulting to label Cole Porter as a "gay songwriter" -- he was simply one of America's best, gay or straight -- just as it would be to identify Irving Berlin as a "heterosexual composing great." Why are sexual labels necessary?Sometimes, people, it's not all about sex. Please give it a rest for the elementary scool children.
